Do I need a lawyer to lodge a constitutional complaint?

No, not necessarily. There is no legal obligation for representation by a lawyer regarding constitutional complaints. If you are confident with meeting all formal requirements, presenting the whole facts, finding the right basic rights and substantiating their violation, you do not really need a lawyer.

A lawyer is necessary for the oral hearing by the Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe. Such an oral hearing is rare, however.
